General Note:
The material in this collection was donated to the Easton Library in 2017 by H. Robert Daws, a Palmer Township resident who served as a township supervisor and was active in many civic and charitable organizations.
Biographical or Historical Data:
The Palmer Republican Club was founded in the 1950's as a local grassroots organization to support Republican Party positions and candidates at all levels of government.
The Palmer Community Advisory Committee, organized in May 1973, was formed by the Palmer Supervisors to be a "brain trust" and study group . The Committee was to convey its idea and suggest programs to the Palmer Board of Supervisors, its departments and commissions. The members of the Committee were to be a cross-section of citizens who were interested in the township and encouraged to promote civic awareness. Each monthly meeting featured a speaker or presenter who could inform and educate the Committee on topics of interest in the township. Citizens were invited to become members of the Committee; the goal was 50 members.
